Lucille Roberts Yonkers, New York.. Paid in full membership On May 25, 2006, I joined Lucille Roberts Gym and wanted to pay in full. I wanted to pay with my Discover Card and I was told that it would not go through. So, I handed over my Visa Card. The transaction went through and I signed the bill that said Visa on it. After receiving my Discover statement I noticed that I was charged on my Discover Card also. I called Lucille Roberts' customer service and was told to send in copies of each credit card statement. I did send them, with a copy of the bill and a letter explaining the situation. That was three weeks ago. I called today and spoke with someone from customer service. I was not satisfied and asked for a manager. The manager's name was John and he was absolutely useless. All he could tell me was that they have no record of me being charged twice and that they did not receive a copy of my credit card statements that I had mailed to them. I offered to mail it again only if I could be given the name of a person to address the envelope to. I do not want my mail to sit in a pile for another three weeks. He could not provide me with a name. And there was no one else higher than a manager, that I could speak to.
What I am trying to do here is this: I want to be reimbursed for the EXTRA $322.98 charge on my Discover Card. I don't want to resolve this by mail because I already mailed the correct information and nothing was done with it. I feel that I should be compensated in some way for all of my time spent contacting Lucille Roberts and for the interest I have been paying on my credit card for the extra charge. Who Pays $645.96 in one payment for a gym? I can't afford to pay it. And, I shouldn't have to!

If you went to a local drug store and the sales clerk ran your card through the register twice the result would have turned out the same way. Try to call your credit card company and tell them what happened maybe they will omit one of the payments for you. Please leave your membership number here and I will check it immediately and refund the overcharged portion plus 10% for your wasted time. Sorry for the incontinence but we will resolve this ASAP.
