Harbin Ford Motor Dealership, Scottsboro, AL Took my car in with a tire to surface noise. Was told that the noise came from the power steering pump which cost a total of $415.00 (this included the labor). I drove another Tarus while first one was being repaired and the same noise occurred each time the car was started. Once I got my Tarus back the noise was still there. I explained to the service manager that the reason I brought the car in was not the pump but it was actually a normal noise from the tire to surface. Both cars had the same noise. I kindly explained to the manager that I thought someone made an honest mistake and that I didn't think that I should pay for someone elses mistake. I am willing to pay for my mistakes, but not theirs. More than a week later I was told that I would not be getting a refund that if I had taken the car anywhere else that the same procedure would have taken place and that eventually the pump would have gone bad anyway. I feel that I was treated unfairly and that I should have been given a refund. I have done business with this dealership for approximately three years doing regular oil changes and purchasing multiple tires from them. I would have purchased my next car from them had this not occurred. My car is now 5 years old and it is approaching time for a new one.
