Gutter Helmet. We had Gutter Helmet install new gutters and their "Helmet" product in 2004. We have had a leaking problem with our kitchen window which was replaced recently (April 2006) as part of a total kitchen renovation in the hopes the "leak" would be cured.

Unfortunately it was not. We had our contractor back out to assess the situation and consulted an architect who both claim they "Gutter Helmet" had installed the gutters incorrectly. The helmet was installed "OVER" the first course of roofing shingles and "UNDER" the second course. They both claim that this should not be the case and was the cause of the leaking problems. The helmet should have been installed 'UNDER" first cours and NOT OVER. We sustained extensive damage to the exterior studs and sliding glass doors. Can someone comment on this installation? Gutter Helmet insists that this is the correct way to install a gutter.
