Lost baggage by EMIRATES AIR and lack of response to complaint

Lost baggage by EMIRATES AIR and lack of response to complaint MY STORY: I traveled on flight EK 011 on 11 August 200, FROM DUBAI to London Gatwick. My seat number is 47K. My FINAL DESTINATION WAS DUBAI via NEWARK. One of the EMIRATES employees has collected my carryon case and the computer, total 2 pieces and gave me two tags at the door of the aircraft, siting some security concerns. He allowed only my pass-port and ticket into the aircraft.. The Tag numbers are EK 511878 and EK 511 879. He told me that they will be delivered to NEWARK by continental flight 19 and finally to Detroit by Continental 877. I have not received the bags at both the airports. Both continental agents at NEWARK and DETROIT, do not have any record of these luggage items.Continental refuses to accept any responsibility. The employees at the continental desk in Detroit are highly uncooperative and argumentative. Some friends with similar experience in USA told me that the items are stolen at DUBAI or DETROIT. According to them this is quiet frequent when you travel via DUBAI or DETROIT, especially with the Continental Air. Either the baggage is stolen or the contents are stolen. My Lap top computer in the DELL bag has all my research and lectures. Even after 5 days, no body from DUBAI airport or the Emirate airline made a sincere effort to trace them. No body responds to your phone calls. Very few employees speak English. If you mention that you are calling from USA, they immediately disconnect the phone.
IDENTITY THEFT may become a problem since the documents from the bags may fall in wrong hands.
