Intex Pool

Intex Pool

I bought an Intex 12' X 24' X 48" oval pool on sale on 3/29/06. I put it up the the last weekend in May. On August 7th the vinyl retaining straps on one side failed causing a total collapse in which 5000 gallons of water to rushed out all at once. Luckily no one was in the pool or yard at that time as this could have resulted in serious injury or death.

I called Intex and asked that they please replace it with an 18' round model, which is considerably less expensive. (I did not want another oval pool because of the danger) They said because the the pool was purchased over 90 days ago, they would do nothing.

Don't buy Intex oval pools. They will fail, and someone will get hurt or die.

I will never buy any Intex product again because the company will not back-up their products.

I agree completely. We purchased the 24 foot metal frame pool. 94 days after puchase the liner ripped and dumped 12,000 gallons of water in about 20 minutes. I called Intex every day for two weeks and was told there was nothing that they would do because it was past 90 days even though it was not up for 90 days. They kept telling me that a supervisor had to help me but the supervisor would never call. So now we have no pool and are our $700.00 plus the cost of all the chemicals for less than 2 months enjoyment.

DO NOT BUY any Intex products. Customer service stinks if you have a problem and apparently their pools are not made of quality material or it would have lasted longer than 94 days.

We bought the Intex 15 x 48 pool a few months back when it was on sale. The warranty is still good until July 28, 2008.

We set the pool up 2 days ago, and all seemed well. When we took the cover off today, we noticed the seam was leaking underneath.

My husband call Intex, and they told him to cut the Intex logo out of the pool and mail it to them. They would then send us a new liner. What would be the point? We would not have a pool the entire Summer. They also suggested that we buy a cement kit and we would be able to fix it without draining the pool. Hmmm, seems like they must have many complaints on seam leaks when they can suggest a quick fix.

I might add that we had the Aqua pool for 5 years without any issues. Would we buy Intex again? NO WAY. Their customer service is lacking.

Do your research....if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

I bought an 12 x 36 round. It's leaking from the bottom and I can't find the leak. I called intex and because the reciept is over 90 days old they say they can't do anything about it. Its been up for 7 weeks. Poor quality and they won't stand by the product!
