Beam Direct-Directv Authorized Dealer

Beam Direct-Directv Authorized Dealer

I contacted Beam Direct, advertising itself as an Authorized Dealer of Directv located in Flagler Beach Fl. to install Directv in my home. Marc, the owner/installer, showed up and installed the satellite. I asked him if there was any charge for the installation and he replied there was done. Upon activation of the service, I told Marc I did not want to subscribe because the TV picture was of such poor quality that I could not watch it. He told me he would reinstall my Dish Network for $300. I told him that was too high a price. He said then he'd charge me $150 -- take it or leave it because he would not reinstall my Dish Network if I did not pay him. I paid because I was being held hostage to not having a working TV if I didn't pay.

I contacted Directv for a refund of the $150. but they refused and said my contract was with Beam Direct, not them! So much for AUTHORIZED DEALER!

Directv's CSRs say a person has 36 hours to drop the contract and not be charged. So why was I charged $150? Neither Beam Direct nor Directv will refund my money. I do know I will never use the services of Beam Direct and Directv again. And advise others to avoid these business as well.

Charlie Phillips

okay so your saying the installer came there. did the work. than you decided you didnt want the service. however instead of calling dish network to put your dish back up you wanted it immediately. therefor the independent contractor getting paid zilch to do all that work or getting paid 150 to put your original system back in place? maybe he shouldve put a new dish up and left your dn system in tact than you could write and bish about having two dishes.errrr everybody wants a free ride than complain that its not smooth....
