Red Carpet Inn Motel

Red Carpet Inn

345 E. Main Street

Ilion, NY 13357

We reserved a room at the Red Carpet Inn, Ilion NY for July 31 - Aug 4.

When we went to the front desk to register there was no one there, the lights were out and there was no air conditioning on a 95 degree day. We had to press a buzzer for service (they lived upstairs).

When we went to our room we were in shock at the condition of it. It smelled awful, the shower door had a LOT of mildew on it, the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days and there were ants!

We went to the front desk to ask for another room but that room was in the same condition. We once again went to the front desk to ask for our money back. We told him we would stay the one night because that wouldn't be refunded and we were credited for the remaining nights. When we got back to the room we decided that it was just too filthy to stay there so we dropped off the key on the front desk and left (no one was ever at the desk when we went there- we had to use the buzzer). I think since we left we should be refunded the $63.72 that we were charged for that night.

The Manager there also gave us a AAA discount and I have contacted AAA to tell them of the conditions of that motel. They are contacting their Headquarters.

I called Hospitality International (which is owns Red Carpet Inn). After being put on hold and cut off twice I talked to someone. They were going to give me the number of the Manager of the motel. I wanted to know why they would do that since the complaint is about his motel. They said they would record my complaint and get back to me but as of yet, have not done so.

My next step is to contact the New York State Department of Health but do not know how to go about that.

It would be nice to get my money back but I am more concerned for the next people who check in to that motel. It is a health hazard!

Thank you for listening.

Hey Robin. I hope I can help you. I have had a bad experience with the Red Carpet Inn here in Pennsylvania and have decided to file a complaint with our health department. When I saw your complaint I looked up New Yorks health department and found a phone number for the Public Health Duty Officer Helpline. 1-866-881-2809. I hope it helps in your endevour to stop the horrible state that it seems all Red Carpet Inns find themselves in.
