I know this is just another complaint to a company that has experienced its share of complaints lately. But what the heck is going on with Verizon?


Here is the story so far……


We were to have our DSL installed in our new place on July 3rd. They didn’t send us the modem for a few days after. When it got here we received a letter stating that service will be turned on July 10th. July 10th rolled around and nothing. I called Verizon the next morning and one of the tech people, who I couldn’t understand, do you guys hire people that speak English???, said it was down in the area and try back in 5 hours. How he could have known 5 hours is beyond anyone. 5 hours passed and still nothing. Called back and they said there was a problem in the main office and we would have to deal with them, we will call you back later in the day…. No call back, nothing. Called the next day and they had tech support go through the idiot steps with me…..I work with computers and I know how to connect things, duh! Once again, tech person was uninformative, didn’t know what was going on. They gave me to a supervisor, but oppppppssssss, we got disconnected, how convenient. Called back again and spoke to a supervisor who said they are going to look into it and call back later. Once again, no call back!!!! Tried on more day, spoke to a supervisor and said they will have someone come out the next day to look at it between 8-5. OK, so my wife had to stay home and miss a day of work to sit around and wait for this, she was not happy. 5pm rolls around and nobody has bothered to show up. Called Verizon, again, and was VERY pissed off. They said that no one was scheduled to come out. Never was and that the DSL would be turned on by July 31st. It just so happened that a Verizon field tech was in our area that morning and I asked him if they were having problems with DSL. He said not a one. Just hooked up 2 others in the area and worked fine. Hmmm, why all the lying in this company??? After talking with another supervisor, they had someone come out that night, at 7pm, to check it out. He said it would be running by Monday morning. Monday morning rolls around and we get some BS message from a machine that it will be ready the following week. That did it for me. I hence have switched to cable and love it. Not a single problem!


Also, as soon as our Vonage is activated, we will be switching to that too. And yes, out contract for the wireless is up in October and will be switching that too!!! Sorry Verizon but you guys have no clue as to what is going on! Oh yeah, all our friends will be switching too soon so too bad!!!
