Universal Fidelity Corporation

I am writing regarding Univeral Fidelity Corporation, a collection agency, located 1445 Langham Creek Drive, Houston, Texas 77084. They have contacted my wife regarding a debt owed to J C Penney which was in my name and she was only an authorized user which does not make her responsible. I included the debt in a bankruptcy filed in September 2005 and discharged in November 2005. The collector calling was advised of this and since I had answered the phone was still listening in and heard him tell her if she didn't pay he would attach her social security checks, which of course is a threat and cannot be done. On April 6, 2006, this company called a total of 7 times, approximately two hours apart. They have been advised no more calls and of course per the FDCPA notification of ceasing communication needs to be done via letter, but calling 7 times in one day can be considered harrassment plus the name calling from the collector.

I had noticed that you handled a complaint against this company previously for another person. Just thought possibly you would be interested in this one.

I too have been harassed by this company. They even somehow linked me an my grandmother and called her asking for personal information about me. I have just recently found out I am a victim of identity theft. I am beginning to wonder if they have a leak or some employees that are not on the up and up that are using the company name to steal identities. Be cautious with these people.

I am Heiserer & Heiserer, and we owe no one, and have a credit reating of 870, also with our business. This out fit even calls at 2 Am and other night times, telling us we must call 800 7707 right away.

They are Phoney as an easter bunny, and it must be a scam. !!!!

I have been called many, many times, even at 2 Am in the morning, demanding I call their 800 7707 number, as I owe a debt.

I owe no one, and never have. I have an 870 credit rating, and business.

It must be a scam.

Collections is a business, not a racket. If this company is calling you, you, or someone who had the number before you, owed a debt. Yes, sometimes an agency does not get all the facts from their clients and mistakes are made. Also, the agencies are not entirely responsible for what ONE collector does. Each collector is responsible for chosing what they say, when and how they say it. You cannot complain to the do not call registry, it is not telemarketing. How do you stop the calls, pick up the phone and find out why they are calling. If it's a legitimate debt, mail, certified, a cease communication notice, or pay your bill and the calls will cease. You cannot ignore it away. It will go from one agency to another and continue in a cycle for years. Then each agency will list the debt on the credit report when placed with them and it will appear you have multiple collection accounts.

This me UFC outfit has been calling me. The first time they called the recording said they are not telemarketers, but it is critical I call thm by 9 pm (forty minutes after they called) and rapidly gave a phone number. Then the call ended. I am not calling them. I almost got burnt last winter about a debt I owed in 2003- which was later removed from my credit report after I provided proof of payment from that debt. This 'collection agency' from the $200+ 2003 debt wanted me to pay them via credit card over the phone. I said I only pay when it's been sent via regular mail. They wanted my address. I told them if they are attemting to collect this alleged debt then they have my address, and then I hung up. They called for weeks at 8 each morning. After a week of picking up the phone, not speaking and then hanging up on thir recording, the calls stopped. Never again will I answer any of these type calls.

Have these phony outfits obtained a copy of my credit report from mid-2003?

I have received multiple calls a day (recorded messages) from this company, and have no clue what it is about since we do not owe anyone any money. I filed a complaint at www.donotcall.gov as we are on the don't call list, and am going to file one every time they call (sometimes 20 minutes apart while their business is closed for the day). I am also going fo file a complaint with the Better business Bureau... I suggest you do too!
