Bad experience with HSBC Bank India - Personal Loan Hi, I am a customer of HSBC India - I got a Personal Loan from HSBC India MG Road Branch, Bangalore, India. I closed the loan last December. They deducted an extra EMI after that. When i complained that to the same branch, they asked to contact customer care number. I called the customer care number, they logged the complaint. After that no action was taken. After calling for four to five times, they told that they have sent to my contact address. They gave me the courier name and reference number. I checked with the courier office and they told me that they have send back to the sender. When i again called the customer care number, they asked me to call after four working days. I got fed up and again went to the MG Road branch, i raised a complaint. The person to whom i talked, sent a mail to the Bombay branch in front of me and she promised me that she will call me after 4 days. I didnt get any call from her. Then i called the customer care again. Again they asked me to call after four to five working days. When i called after 2 weeks, they asked me to fill some form and send some letter. I really got fed up with the service. I lost the hope. Even if i fill the form, i feel there will be no use. 3 months over and i have been calling the customer care number and going to the branch. They also havent returned the cheques which i gave them when i got the loan. After this, i have decided not to bank with HSBC anymore. Please help me to get back my cheques and the extra emi they deducted. I did close my personal loan and came to U.S. , 4 months later a representative called my home and said still I need to pay for a month . I had to pay as they're keep on raising penalty fee each month. To avoid this in future, I requested them to provide a letter to confirm that loan is complete. Still they didn't send me it's already 3 years got over . I would recommend you to get confirmation from them stating your loan is complete. There were several verifications for a minimum of 6 times over phone, in person in my home town, office address and references and I even I received a call from Mumbai for verification. But the highlight was Loan Rejected. I found it for myself. They use to call me everyday for verification and this happened for nearly 10 days. But after that I tried calling the bank, agency and the executive several time but of no use they never attended the call. They should have atleast told me that it is rejected. I dont know the reason for rejection eventhough all my documents were perfect. Keep it up HSBC!~ I request you not to spoil the belief that the person who applies for a loan has in your bank. They might have planned something serious. Now I need to know the account status (outstanding principle, emis etc). But I coudn't find a single customer care phone number (the ones on net only has IVRS for personal banking and credit cards) which can put me on to the personal loan dept. Can you know from you if there is such a number, please let me know. thanks Srinivas From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 04-Feb-08 04:28:56 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisHSBC bank is worst bank in the world. I have been strugling dealing with bank for quite sometime now. I am a custmer with HSBC bank HYDRABAD , India. I had a personal loan, with HSBC. After 3 years of regular payment of EMI. ie. for 36 months I paid them the EMI without any fail or delay. I decide that I should prepay the amount. I called them and they said its not possible. I dont know what else to write. To me the bank did all it can to thrust more interest and the loan application and loan agreement being VIOLATED. HSBC Bank said my first EMI is 10th October and then the bank came up with some strange date and term " Loan Effective Date" as 16th October. Bloddy HSBC BAnk behaves like a street side bank. Even a pawn broker will do a better job of informing its customers of any change or violation to the agreement especially when it has a direct impact on the Interest. But HSBC Bank did not have the courtesy to tell me unless I pointed it to HSBC BAnk and then the bank justifies that it is a standard practice to do so. HSBC Bank also says that the EMI was then changes to 15th of every month. While the payment hits my bank EXACTLY ON THE 10TH OF EVERY MONTH. SUCH A CHEAP BANK DELIBERATELY CHEATING CUSTOMERS FOR A FEW RUPEES MORE WHO PUT A LOT OF TRUST ON THE BANK. I SUGGEST HSBC BANK SENIOR MANAGEMENT TO RATHER BEG IN THE STREETS THAN TO FVIOLATE AND CHEAT CUSTOMERS.
