TechSkills / Medical Coding Associates Program
|
TechSkills / Medical Coding Associates Program Colorado / A very bad experience. I enrolled in the medical coding program, and from almost day one found inconsistencies and concerns. - Mentors are pitched as real-life sources for job specific experience, expertise and knowledge. My mentor, more often than not, simply dismissed anything that wasn't answerable with a key as not necessary to know at the time or, suggested I check back when the mentor wasn't so busy. - The mentor would frequently be off site for lunch for hours at a time. On one occasion I was on-site for about four hours testing and trying to get my next course set up, during which time a number of other students came in and left, being told that the mentor was at lunch and would be back very soon. When I clocked out nearly four hours later, they were still coming in and leaving and being told the mentor was at lunch. - A big selling point is the contact and reputation the school is supposed to have with employers in the industries it trains students for. The first and only contact I took from my mentor didn't seem to have any idea why TechSkills was referring students without on-the-job experience. And they didn't seem to know of the mentor at all, even though the mentor insisted they'd worked closely together for some time. Overall it was a very unfortunate experience and I would highly recommend anyone considering the program request industry references for the individual that would be their mentor prior to signing anything. _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar – get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/ From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 29-Apr-06 23:24:40 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
