Vonage customer service

Vonage customer service

Vonage Internet phone service has awful customer service. I signed up 9 months ago even though my city was not a local Vonage service area. It is now and its listed as such on it's web page as available. I should be able to change my number from my on-line account, however the web page doesn't allow me. Calling the toll free number is an insult - the representatives are rude, their articulation poor, the connection cuts in and out and hold time is long. When I ask to speak to a manager, it is worse - I am usually just disconnected. I've asked for a mailing address numerous times and no one will give me one. I would've never signed up with a company that would not give me the physical address of their offices or a mailing address - that is just for slip shot companies. Now I cannot even make contact through emails to get the address to send back their equipment.

I've since checked the net and talked to others and found that Vonage is known for poor customer service. I am disconnecting service as soon as my new equipment from another provider arrives. However I understand that Vonage is very much like scams that just keep billing you and billing you. I am sending complaints to the usual agencies - BBB, state attn. general etc., but since your site pulled up in the top 3 in goggle, I hoped that maybe someone reading would know of another route to get quicker results? Of course I am emailing all of my friends and family and warning them about Vonage customer service. Unfortunately I'd emailed them a few months ago and said I liked it: that was before I need customer service.

Thank You, Very Unhappy about Vonage

I got the best Vonage are morons story you won't believe.

My brother passed away 2 weeks ago, There was an unopened letter from Vonage saying they had deducted his payment from his checking account. SO......... I call them,

tell them I want to cancel, they ask for account no, name, etc - I had that in my hand.

I then told them he was DEAD, please cancel the service......

REPLY- "May I speak to him please."

I said, once again - "he is DEAD, the doctor does not expect his condition to change any time soon."

SO, they say - add your name to the account, then we can close it - what are they smoking?

SO, I go on line and email customer service telling them the situation. The reply I get is fax them a death certificate, THEN call the morons I already spoke to and they will cancel the service.

Well, since they bill in advance, they owe his estate money and the longer they stonewall me the less his estate gets back. SO - I just tried to fax them the death certificate and I get a recording "mailbox full".

Time to give it to the lawyer. I am SO pissed and am not even, nor would I ever consider being a customer.

AND, as was stated - mailing address - can't find one.

The representatives at the 800 number are like robots. They read through their script as if you aren't even asking them real questions. I tried to cancel my service because it simply DOES NOT WORK in my area anymore. It worked at the beginning but has taken a turn for the worse and I cannot hear people when i am on the phone.

It took me over 45 minutes to cancle. It's almost like they try and WAIT IT OUT and see how long they can keep you on hold in order the steer you away from cancelling.

I called several times for service trying to get the line corrected so i could stay with their service. They did nothing for me. They told me to use the GEEK SQUAD at Best Buy to fix it and they would pay it. The Geek Squad said they knew nothing about it and couldn't help at all.

Then I try and cancel and they tell me I have to pay over $80 in cancellation fees. What a joke.

The representative tried to talk me into stay for over 30 minutes which is her right, I understand but when I am simply repeating that I want to cancel, please cancle my account over and over and over and she is ignoring me trying to get me to stay, it get's VERY irritating.

Anyway, I am WAITING them OUT on the phone right now STILL trying to cancel. It's been 45 mi nutes now.

I am VERY UNHAPPY with their service.
