Honda Accord / Honda Finance Loan
|
Honda Accord / Honda Finance Loan We are financing a 2004 Honda Accord through Honda Finance Corporation. My finance has co-signed on the car.
Payments to Honda Finance Corp. were being made through our bank via Bill Pay. Early last year (2005) Honda Finance went through an account number change. We were sent our new account number in which we promptly converted in bill pay. In May, 2005 we attempted to purchase a new vehicle, however were unable to do so on our own due to the fact that our Honda Finance account was in default.
We had never at any point received a notice of non-payment. When we contacted Honda Finance we were told that our account was current and that it must have been a mistake. In August, 2005 our car was repossessed without notice! When we contacted Honda Finance at this point, we were told that our account number from Honda Finance was mistakenly mixed-up with another vehicle. Therefore our 2004 Honda account was not getting credit. We had to pay over $2,000 in payments/fees to get the vehicle back, even though Honda admits that the situation was due to their error. We were told that this would not be reflected in our Credit Report. Another lie! We have an "8" (repossession) on our credit report even after receiving a letter of clearance from Honda Finance.
We are attempting to solve this dilemma at the moment, it has been a complete nightmare. We're not sure on what tactics to approach at the moment. Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
