Ripped off by Dell helped by MDG Computers

I bought a Dell Dimension desktop in December and asked for an nvidia geforce 6600 gt. When my computer arrived, the power supply was dead. I called technical support and they told me to open up my case myself. At the same time, I noticed that the video card was a geforce mx, which is a very CHEAP alternative. This was NOT what I had requested. I told the tech support agent this at the same time he brushed it off and continued instructing me to check all the cables of the power supply. Finally after 2 hours on the phone with the agent he said a representative from Dell would come and fix the issue. 3 DAYS LATER a computer tech came and replaced the power supply. Upon FINALLY turning on my PC the software was there and as I requested but I noticed the 1GB of RAM wasn't there, only 512MB. I got on the phone with DELL again and informed them that I had not recieved the memory and video card I had purchased. After being transferred to several people I decided to return the PC for a full refund. When I did get my refund it wasn't in FULL. Only half of it was put back on my credit card and the other half was store credit. This was totally unfair and I'm still seeking to get my money back Dell cannot rip people off like this.


Now having been without a functional PC for a week, I decided to pay a visit to MDG Computers. I noticed that all computers were equipped with dual core Intel processors and were a couple hundred bucks cheaper than what I had paid for my Dell LEMON. After matching the specs I originally asked for at MDG Computers I ended up with a PC that was equipped with everything I wanted plus a few free upgrades that the sales guy threw in. Unlike the Dell represents all my questions were answered straight away and the sales guy didn't try and sell me a whole load of crappy software that I didn't want.


I'm still waiting to here back from Dell about this whole issue. It frustrates me alot and I think this is the only place where I can get heard and maybe save some other people from getting ripped off from Dell.
