Maytag Dishwasher

Maytag Dishwasher Maytag Corporation, now Whirlpool Corporation 403 W. 4th St N Newton, Iowa 50208
I purchased a new dishwasher at Menard's (a retailer, Tinley Park, IL) on August 31, 2005. The dishwasher was professionally installed after completion of kitchen remodeling. The remodeling was completed during the first week of October 2005. It was discovered, after the dishwasher's first use, that water and condensation penetrated the top vents located on the door panel and caused water to incessantly leak on to the new hardwood floor. I contacted Maytag and it dispatched its own repairman to correct the problem on 10/11, 10/21, 11/18 and 12/09/2005. The problem persisted without resolution. Thereafter, Maytag contacted Advanced Refrigeration (AR), Bensonville, IL (Tel: 630-766-2000, Pete is point of contact). AR attempted to correct problem on 01/09, 02/02, 02/10/, 03/24/, and 04/07/2006. It was determined that the dishwasher's control board was receiving only eleven volts of electricity. The control board should be receiving a minimum of 60 volts according to Maytag/Whirlpool Engineering. On 04/07/2006, the AR Technician stated I have a "freaky dishwasher." All attempts to repair dishwasher resulted in failure. The dishwasher per AR may have a design/engineering defect and should be returned to this company unit for problem discovery. I last spoke with Peggy Moore (Maytag point of contact on 03/24/2006 - Tel: 866-550-5136 X 3669). I stated to Ms Moore that the dishwasher product was a lemon and that it needs to be replaced or my purchase monies refunded. I suggested to Ms Moore, pursuant to the discusssion I had with the AR repair technician on 02/10, that the dishwasher should be examined by a product engineer. The repair technician was obviously stumped by the problem as was the others. Ms Moore stated that AR would be checking a few other things on the dishwasher. This check was done on 04/07/2006. On 04/10/2006, AR stated that there was nothing more they can do. I h ave attempted, leaving voice mail messages, to contact Peggy Moore. She has ignored me by not returning my calls. I can only conclude that Maytag will not compy with its own expressed Dishwasher Warranty which states, "For one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase, any part which fails in normal home use will be repaired or replaced free of charge." The entire dishwasher unit itself is the part that failed.
