design savers health plan Design Savers Health Plan In short, my company filed bankruptcy and my wife was pregnant. We needed health insurance. Good luck with a pre-existing condition. Design Savers to the rescue... or so I thought. It is not health insurance. I knew this before hand but I wanted to see how they could help. They have helped me in one way, maybe two. One: they helped me lower my account balance in my bank account, and Two: you better believe I research a lot more before I give any info out to a company...that lesson only cost a few hundred bucks. After receiving the packet in the mail and going over it, I immediately called to cancel before any funds went through. After calling all I got was a recorded message (It was past 9 pm so I thought "No big whoop.") The message indicated that if I want to cancel my account I should not call the bank and cancel the transactions. The only way to cancel was through e-mail. Fat chance on the email. Every time I emailed it was undeliverable. EVERY time! The last unsent email said something like permanent damage to the address or internal damage. Most emails returned undeliverable after 4 hours of constantly trying to deliver. I finally got through to speak with a "customer service" representative...if you want to call this person that. She asked me to hold...of course. "One of our systems is down at the present time. May I have your number to call you back?" At this time...I am still waiting for a phone call. I have my attorney doing some dirty work. I am contemplating my only other option... wich is getting a new bank account and or debit card...and this means that all of my other "GOOD" debits will have to be changed. I will now have to call, email, fax, write, etc. all of the other accounts that I use this card with and set up new accounts. In closing, RUN! RUN! RUN! Not worth the hassle, money, frustration, or anything really. PS- the salesman are very trained. Please don't think twice. They prey on the needy! (remember me and the wifey were pregnant and not insured...I bet if you are still contemplating you are needy too.) Again, learn from others mistakes. RUN. FAST. QUIT THINKING ABOUT IT. RUN.
