Firestone Service Nightmare
|
Firestone Service Nightmare I brought my 2001 Honda Civic coupe for an oil change to Firestone and I was told that a Honda Recommended Transmission service popoed up in the computer. I agreed to the service as long as it was Honda recommended. Firestone ended up doing a transmission flush. I notice my car shifting rougher but hoped in time it would get better. By the time my car hit an addional 3,000 K(from 60,000), my check engine light went on and I noticed my engine riding very rough. I took it back to them and they said I needed a new Solenoid. I didn't believe them and had a second opinion later that day from a work recommended mechanic. He ran the same diagnostic test that Firestone ran earlier that day and told me that I had a transmission problem: I needed a new torque converter because of the incorrect service Firestone originally did. Repairs would be $1,000 +! Firestone first admitted to the error and then denied it the next days saying that this problem had anything to do with the transmission flush and that they hid the engine error from me. I have been without a vehicle for 5 days and they are giving me the "run around". I have had the District Manager of Hartford County in Connecticut try to intimidate me into court. There is not outcome yet but I have already filed a BBB complain and am in the process of filing a small claims and consumer protection complaint.
