Rebate / Contract issues with Sunshine wireless,99 Wall Street , New York Hi I bought a Nokia 6230 fromSunny Singh's SUNSHINE WIRELESS which supposedly had $50 rebate . The rebate form was not included in the box and despite many reminders e-mail / phone calls Sunny would never send it out . He even went to extent of saying he had Fedexed it to my mailing address ,it never reached me.I would walk down to his store , everytime being promised he would send me the rebate form ..or 'by the time u get to work in the morning the form will be in ur inbox ' or ur fax machine etc !! All in vain !! One day , very close to my rebate expiry I did receive a rebate form in my inbox . However ,'not to my surprise ' (as I have gathered from my dealings with Sunny Singh) it did not even have my phone model listed on it. On calling the rebate center I learned , my phone never had a rebate in NY and the form given to me had a New Hampshire code where the rebate was valid in Mar-April 2005. I bought the phone in Sept 2005. When I questioned Sunny about the validity of the form , he told me Cingular Customer Care dosent know what they are talking !!! Wow!!! I called Cingular a second time to determine the authenticity of the form and again I got the same reply . They even told me not to send it , because it would definitely be rejected. The manager then decided to take up the matter and took details of the store becos the phone I have does not even bear the Cingular logo. Luckily for me Cingular wireless , credited $50 to my account , so I have nothing to complain about as far as the money goes. But I did come across atleast 6-7 colleagues at work with similar problems with Sunny Singh . I now realise that I have also unknowingly signed a 2 year contract with Cingular , because I was told I need to abide by it for only 180 days and he would handle the rest if I needed to switch . I have been duped and I just wanted to reach out to other unsuspecting customers through your website . Thanks Diana Sequeira P.S. Sunshine Wireless also goes by the name With Us Comm.Would request you to notify Sunshine Wireless at Email User about this complaint. <<Fwd: FW: New Cingular Rebate Form>> <<Re: Rebate form>> From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Friday, 09-Dec-05 14:03:58 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI have read all of the complaints regarding Sunshine Wireless and totally agree that the store is a fraud. I made a 52.00 payment and it was never posted to my account. They went on the phone with t-mobile and simply had them post a courtesy credit which expired after 7 business days. At that time my account went negative and my service discontinued. I called the store repeatedly to have this situation fixed and each time met with the same result. I am still trying to solve this problem over 2 months later. The fact remains Sunshine wireless took my money and never forwarded my payment to T-Mobile. He is simply fooling people around, there by spoiling T-Mobile image in the market. I Don't know y I believed him and got trapped in the offer but would always stop people in future to go to him and would not leave a single place to post complaint against him. I would like to see his Business License getting cancelled. There are 3 people in his office. ANDY, SAM and SUNNY. Also FYI, please call Customer care and terminate your line saying that you are in India and fax your Driver's License to the T-Mobile customer care. They will also waive your termination fee. Sunny, the owner is a scam artist and lies without a guilt. He made the usual promises to me - 6 month contract. Also said that he would pay me $50 since I had to break my current contract - which I never received. The 6-month contract too was a lie, but I had no intentions of terminating the contract in 6 months, so didn't affect me too much. Sunny also promised me that he would transfer my # from old provider to new one, and failed to do so. Ultimately, I had to carry both phones for an extended period of time. All in all, turned out to be quite an expensive affair. My point is, don't believe ANY of his empty promises. He'll promise you the moon to earn your business. When I reached USA, I got a T-Mobile connection from them. When I first contacted for details I was told that the contract is for 6 months and I sent copies of all the docs requested like Deputation letter, Passport, Visa etc etc along with one cheque leaf with void written across it and also the debit card scanned copy. I had to come back as per the assignment duration so in the beginning itself I confirmed with him that the connection can be cancelled after 6 months. At that time he said it is very much possible. So I took the connection. I came back to India and before coming (few days before starting from there) I called and said that I want to cancel the service. I got a reply saying that they will take care. I had also mentioned that I will pay the bill for another month also because then only 6 months will be completed. He said okay and I had also sent a fax the day before I started just for safe side and as a reminder. I requested him to send an email stating the status. After that I sent many emails asking to confirm the cancellation but I didnt get any reply. Some body attended one of the 'n' number of attempts I made to reach him on phone and said that it will be taken care (even without asking any details!!!). Every month the bill is getting generated and I end up paying the amount just because of the Credit History concept in USA. One should not promise and get business done if they are not capable of keeping up the promises. It might be true that some of them telling Sunny Sing and his company is the best. But what I noticed from their messages is they 'are' still customers and this pathetic situation is for those unlucky people who either requested him to cancel the service which he promised to do so at the time of giving the connection. It is not even possible to get the unlock code for the phone because he gives a password to the account which is required when you contact Customer Service to unlock the phone. Not only unlock the phone you cannot get any information from customer care unless you provide the code. Only info that was given by T-Mobile CC is the minimum contract period is 1yr and they are not at all aware of anyone giving the connection for 6 months contract and if you cancel the service you have to pay $200. It is a common sense that if you have lot of business and thousands of customers, provide some employment to few people who are in search of job and facing troubles in USA. It will help do your business more efficiently and also you will get a satisfaction that you are providing employment to the needy. Nobody said to run the business single handedly and considering the amount of business and customer base, it can be done easily. One cannot give excuses saying he do not have anybody to help and other non sense things. While getting business he is the single person only. Isn't he taking care of all the things and giving you connection? Why can't he spare few minutes to give customer delight? That will give him more good will and business too. He might be earning lots of dollars and for him the bill amount that people like us are paying might be very little but when you consider the entire group of victims, it goes to some hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Any of you guys who had similar experience and got it resolved some how, please tell me how to proceed with and how you got this issue solved. I will be grateful to you. Just a note to Sunny Singh/Sunshine: Please do not take up business if you are not in a position to keep up your promises. In fact, its our hard earned money that you are robbing from us. You may not get the money into your pockets but it is cheating and robbing other money. Keep this in mind before you promise a 6 month contract to any new customer. Also it is not the end if some one requests you to cancel, there are lot of chances people will travel between US and India. So if you keep your promises, it is sure that the customer will come to you whenever there is a need or atleast refer you to their friends/relatives. SUNNY is the biggest FRAUD and CHEATER on this earth. NEVER BELIEVE HIM OR GO TO HIM if you want have peace of mind. You can go to him if you dont know how to spend/waste your hard earned money. SUNNY calls himself as SAM also and tries to believe others. When you call and ask for Sunny, though he picks the phone he says Sunny will come in 10 mins and asks you to call again. Terrorists are much more better. They kill you only once but this guy Sunny and his firm Sunshine Wireless will kill you mentally and financially also.
