magicchef-ewave Microwave Oven model KOT-153UW

Dear Complaints,

magicchef-ewave Microwave model KOT-153UW. This is a total

piece of garbage. it was bought new, installed less than 1 year ago.

It has periodically pulled tantrums, shutting down, and coming back

on without notice. Now the turntable stopped working, the inside

light stopped working when on. And the outside lights stopped

working. Whoever made these MW Ovens should be ran out of town and

they should never ever be allowed to rip-off consumers ever again.

Disgusting garbage.

I bought a combo ewave MW for over the stove w/vent hood from Home Depot a couple years ago, and when it works it's ok, but then for no reason the display runs multiple levels of codes (on top of each other) and things flashing, and often when I use it, it throws off the circuit breaker which is in the basement so I'm not happy about that. An electrician told me it's not the circuit that's the problem but the microwave electronics. Of course I can't take it back now and I don't want to keep running to the basement so I use a cheap $60 microwave on the counter instead.

Mine just quit as if it had been unplugged. Checked the breaker and the outlet. Replaced the fuse. Still nothing.

I would buy another kot153uw if I could find one,just to keep the same mounting brackets on the wall and cabinet. It is mounted above the range. Any advice would be appreciated.

I too am stuck with a Ewave Microwave Model KOT-153UW. It stopped working and I cannot find how to get it fixed. Does anyone know of a different microwave that can fit the exact dimensions of the KOT 153UW?

I also have an Ewave built in microwave and it does all the things that Mr. Palmer described! It also shuts down in the middle of cooking and is dead as a doornail. Then inexplicably about 15 to 30 minutes later you hear a beep and it's back in business. Now the interior light and the turntable ceased working as well as the underside lights over the stove. Bought replacement bulbs and they don't work either. The first Ewave microwave I got was replaced since it kept sparking for no reason. I tried calling the toll-free number but it says it's disconnected. I guess they went out of business. No big surprise there.

He's right. This Microwave oven is a real piece of junk. It is unbelievable to live now (today) when just 20 years ago, manufacturers used to put out products to the best of their abilities. Those days are history.
