I found your website the other day when I as researching how to complain

about American express credit card company.

Does anyone know what is going on with this company? They actually are not

a credit card company they are a "charge card" company because the gold card

that most everyone uses has to be paid off each month.

We used to use American express for items that cost more than $1000.00 or so

that way we could get frequent flyer miles.

My husband and I went on a trip to Europe and when we got back he decided he

wanted to get a new computer. He tried to use his Amex but was told to call

customer service for approval. When he called customer service rep told him

that we had a one thousand dollar balance and that if he would pay that he

could charge the computer at that time. The charge for the computer was

going to be around 4 thousand dollars. He immediately wired money to Amex

for payment EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT TIME TO PAY THE BILL MEANING AMEX WAS NOT

DUE TO COME OUT FOR ANOTHER WEEK OR SO.

My husband then tried to purchase the computer again and got the same prompt

to contact customer service at Amex. He was told by the second person that

it was in Amex best interest NOT to allow him to charge that high ticket

item. My husband was lived as the person on the other end of the phone

proceeded to call him a liar that no one would have told him what they did.

He then asked them "why would I pay my bill before it has even arrived if I

was not told to pay it in order to get the new charge". Of course they

could not answer that question. Another thing that compounded the problem

is they were not even in the United States. Why in blue blazes would

American Express have there offices in another country? H mmmm any idea???

To save MONEY that WE SPEND ON THERE CHRGE CARD! We have been Amex member

for a very long time. My husband and I both cut up our cards. Not loyal to

the people that make them money...amazing..Good bye Amex and good riddance.

You want miss us because there are lots of others using your service, But

eventually people realize the hypocrite you are.
