Act 1 Hair Salon, Middle Village New York Act 1 Hair Salon in Middle Village, New York - I requested a foil highlighting which stylist (Maria) assured me she could do. My hair turned orange and some fell out. I returned the following day for a refund so that I could have color and damage repaired. Salon owner refused refund and offered to correct errors, but I feared the remainder of my hair would also fall out. I insisted on refund of $135. Salon owner gave me $50 and threw me out of the salon. Stylist obviously had no experience in doing this type of highlighting procedure. I consulted another stylist who confirmed highlighting done incorrectly, but must wait two - four weeks to fully repair color as any further colorings will cause more damage and fall out. Do I have any recourse? Shouldn't salon be responsible for cost of correcting errors and for false advertising? (Sign in window alleged "all types of highlights and low lights available.) Can I file complaint with Board of Health? _____ STATEMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY This electronic message may contain privileged or confidential information. I do recall a highlight that a client was not happy with but as a professional hair dresser for 35 years it was a beautiful job. Maybe, some people just do this so they dont have to pay for a service! I told her if she wasnt happy , I would be more than happy to change anything she wasnt happy with until she was happy!! She refused and just wanted her money back! I did NOT throw her out of my salon , I offered her a credit for the full amount of the service ($135-) ...but she still refused it. She just wanted her money and I told her we spent a lot of time ...time is money and it was a beautiful hightlight. PS- I think this is just one of those people that scam you!! I have been in business for many years and as you can see there was this one complaint ...which wasnt true!!
