Amazon.com gift certificates

I’ve had bad luck with Amazon.com’s gift certificates.

Last year, my granddaughter ran into difficulty and couldn’t use hers.

This year, my son sent me this message:

Just wanted to say thanks for the gift certificate.

But FYI, I am having real trouble cashing in the gift

certificate. It does not recognize the claim code ... even

though it is the same claim code that Amazon sent me (as

well as you). Now two hours into trying to figure out what is

wrong, I am giving up. I just don't have the time to waste on

it right now. Just food for thought on future gifts ... Amazon

does not make it consumer friendly.

In each case, when I tried to contact Amazon and straighten out the problem, they told me the certificates had already been delivered and the recipient would have to solve the problem. They have no link to report problems.
