AOL Online – Fraud Department

I noticed five charges of 23.90 on my bank statement that were charged from AOL. I called the number on my bank statement relating to these charges and AOL referred me to their fraud department. I spoke to a man (didn’t get his name) at the AOL fraud department and I gave him all of the information and I asked for a refund. He said he couldn’t give me a refund until he mailed me an affidavit and I signed it and returned it. I asked him to fax it to me as it’s less than a week before Christmas and I need the money. He said he didn’t have access to a fax machine. I had no recourse but to wait for the affidavit to come to me in the mail. I then asked him for the email addresses on the account to see if there were any names I recognized to see if someone I knew may have done this and they refused to give me the names. The guy in the Fraud department at AOL said, “You may be one of the people who made the fraudulent charges.” So, instead of me being the victim, I am now the criminal. He treated me horribly and wouldn’t give me any information to give to the police, who were on their way to my house to take a report. This is just one of the reasons I will never be a customer of AOL.
