ATT/ Cingular cell

I had been an AT & T cellular customer for approximately 10 years also during the cingular takeover. I wanted to switch over to Verizon due to unsatisfactory coverage's in our area. Unfortunately my contract was 10 days short of fulfillment and was charged with a $450 early cancellation fee. This is absolutely ludicrous!! I made a partial payment of $75.00 on the account and Cingular now tells me that if I don't pay the total amount in the next 11 days it will be sent to collection.
