Case #3212074324 Re: Replacement Desk Jet Printer 450ci Serial #SG3C331070 received 9/14/05 Following is a copy of a Fax message which I sent to Hewlett Packard on December 6, 2005. To date, I have not had the courtesy of a reply. Today's date is December 15, 2005. "I have been in contact with H sporadically since November 2005 in an effort to get an extended warranty on the above-mentioned desk jet printer since the 90-day warranty will expire this month. "Time and again HP insisted that there was already an extended warranty on this printer which would not expire until January 2007. HP was unable to find a record of this taking place. Eventually a very helpful person (Brian in Canada somewhere) was able to unscramble the puzzle a bit. "Brian referred me to another person (Agan) who handles "commercial" accounts. She advised me that the replacement printer I have does indeed have an extended warranty expiring in Jan. 2007. Also, that the replacement printer I have is a machine which State Farm Insurance in Bloomington IL had returned to HP! (I don't appreciate receiving a used machine when I paid over $270.00 for a new machine, which may have also been someone else's machine before I received it and dealt with all of the problems I encountered with it before requesting a replacement machine. . . .) "Well, next, I talked to Syed in technical support who put me on "hold" several times while he discussed the matter with his supervisor in an effort to figure out what to do. After some time I was told that an invoice would be mailed to me at my address in Corning NY. To date I have not received this invoice. (I was also told that I would receive an e-mail confirming all of this. I have not received that either. "I am leaving Corning NY tomorrow, Dec. 7, to return to my home in Albany NY. I would appreciate it if the invoice and/or a copy could be sent to me at the following address: Shirley J. Holton, P. O. Box 14052, Albany NY 12212-4052 since I will not be at the Corning address again until late December. "Considering all of the problems I have had with the first printer not functioning properly and now having a used printer as a replacement which already has a warranty on it expiring in Jan. 2007, it would certainly be a nice gesture if that warranty could be applied to me and/or whatever charge is due from me be dismissed or reduced. . . . "I look forward to hearing from someone soon. "Thank you for your attention to this matter. "P.S. -- I have tried unsuccessfully to send this note to several e-mail addresses which I found in printed matter (as well as some given to me by one of your technical support (Agan) related to the desk jet printer. Therefore, I am sending this via fax and hope to hear from someone at Hewlett Packard who can finally resolve this matter to our mutual satisfaction." It is now December 15, 2007, and I still have not received an invoice and/or a response to my fax sent to HP on December 6, 2005. I have discussed this matter with HP technical support personnel all around the world, but no one seems to be able to follow through on this. I don't understand what the problem is?? When can I expect a response and resolution to this matter?? From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Thursday, 15-Dec-05 04:30:31 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
