GEM monitor is bad and dont buy it and dont be lured by rebates. Hi all Beware of GEM monitors and the rebates they give. I purchased a GEM monitor from Fry's by 3G technologies. I should have made a choice of another good brand which was 90 dollars more. I was lured by the 70 $ rebate. After 3 month, monitor started to have problems. I tried different places to avoid the wireless radio interference issue. It still was not helping my monitor from flickering and showing magenta tinge. I called the customer service and they sent me a RMA number to send the monitor back on OCT 12 2005. My Nightmare started that day. I sent the monitor and waited for reply from them for more than 10 days. I did not get a proper reply. Since I called many times after 10 days they sent me a replacement monitor after 2 weeks. They sent me a old refurbished monitor and with bad adapter which didn't even go in the socket. The QA process was so bad they didn't check if it is powering up or not. So after calling them couple more times and getting another RMA number I had wait for another 10 days to get me another replacement. Second replacement also took considerable amount of phone calls and emails on my part to get it back. I got the second replacement after 2 months since i started the first RMA. The replacement had bad pixel when I connected it to the computer. I called the tech support and asked them why i got a replacement with bad pixel. The answer i got was even more shocking. Since Gem star does not consider one bad pixel as faulty according to their pixel policy they sent me the monitor with bad pixel. So please don't buy GEM monitor because they are cheap. I hope my experience with GEM/ 3G technologies tech support will make others to think twice before buying cheap GEM monitor which are no good. If you pay 50 to 100 dollars more you can get a good quality from good brands.
