On Dec 8,2005 I went to the MDG store to purchase a vision 3000G, the salesman Shane talked with me and went over things, he said if I gave back the Radeon x3000SE Graphics card that I would get my motherboard upgraded to a 915GLV that way I would not have to purchase a ethernet card as this model has it onboard, next he advised me that is I took the (free) upgrade of the ram from a 512 MB to the 1GB that I would actually loose MHZ as the 512 is 400 MHZ and the (free) 1GB is 256x4 at 266MHZ. (HUM what a wonderful upgrade or is really a downgrade) anyway I told him I wanted the 1GB. Next the 17" LCD monitor (free upgrade to New Generation 19" Crystal Clear LCD monitor). He tells me that the upgraded monitor only has 3 month warranty and that the picture is not great on it, I wonder is this really an upgrade, no wonder it is free. Anyway I told him that I would stick with the 17" then. Then the free lexmark printer scanner Copier. Apparantly you have to pay for the ink at a low price of $75.00. I also get a (free) wireless router, which I pay 35.00 for and have to send in rebate.I also had them quote me with a floppy drive and a DVD Rom. They gave me a quote that was higher than I wanted to spend so he went into the back and spoke to the manager and they said they would reduce the price of the DVD Rom and the Ink so that it was closer to my budget. All this for the low price of 1517.00 with the taxes. Anyway Friday I get the MDG flyer in the pennysaver and lo and behold they have a vision 4000 for 1077.00 and it has a 915G chipset so I called Shane since I had not picked up my computer because they didnt have the monitor on Thursday and Shane informs me that in reality to purchase the Vision 4000 it would cost an additional 75.00 so I told him nevermind, I then inquired as to the operating system and asked if I was getting the Windows XP Pro with mediacenter, he said yes. I asked him to notify me when the computer would be ready to pick it up. I received a call Friday after noon the system was ready to be picked up. I couldnt make it to pick it up until Saturday.

When I got there after waiting in line the lady brought out just the tower, and they were a bit confused as to what I had purhased, eventually they figured out that I was supposed to get the monitor, keyboard and so on. I then asked what Operating System was installed and they told me Windows XP with mediacenter. I was confused because I thought they were putting in Windows XP pro with mediacenter, anyway the lady tried to explain to me what i got and that it was the same as XP pro, I was very confused so she got the tech to come explain. Apparantly Windows XP with mediacenter is the same as Windows XP pro with mediacenter. At this point I am confused and frustrated and said look just give me back my money. They then informed me that they didnt have my monitor as they were so busy that they ( I guess) gave mine to someone else. The lady went and told me I could come back on Monday as they were getting a shipment in then I questioned why they would call me and tell me it was ready when it wasnt. So she then went and spoke with someone from the back and told me I could get a 19" viewsonic for 185.00 extra, but that there was a rebate of 100.00 so I would actually only have to pay 85.00 for the monitor. ( I would just have to wait to get the rebate back).I told her I was working within a budget and didnt have an extra 185.00.At this point I am confused and very frustated, I have asked for my money back again. So she again went and spoke with someone from the back and came and told me that they would give me the monitor for 100.00 which I would get back on the rebate. I told her that I really didnt have any extra money but that if I could give back the ink that then I would only have to come up with 45.00 extra, so again she went and spoke with someone in the back and said that was ok. Then the first lady was getting ready to finish my sale and was going to take back the (free) printer, I told her that was not what was agreed upon that I was just giving back the ink. At this point the salesman Shane came in and came to me, I told him how frustated I was and explained what was going on and he told me that the printer was actually 200.00 and that 100.00 of that price was a mail in rebate and the other 100.00 was for ink and a printer cable and that he had explained that to me on Thursday, I told him he had not said anything to me about that, he proceeded to tell me he never misleads his customers, so I asked him are you then calling me a LIAR he said he was not going to argue with me and walked away.I know he never said anything to me of that nature on Thursday, he reminded me that he had worked to get the price closer to me budget, which i agreed that he had, but it didnt change the facts. After a few minutes he came back and gave me a new invoice with the difference of 45.00 plus tax, now my computer has cost 1568.60, but i will get 135.00 back on rebates. At this point I am begining to wonder if my (free) microsoft Suite has been installed, so I ask one of the girls to find out. Shane comes out and tells me that they dont have any in stock but they are getting a shipment in on Tuesday and after work he will deliver it to my house. I told him that I would call and pick it up myself. I have never in my life been frustrated and confused to this point when buying something. Why would they tell me my computer is ready when not only do they not have the monitor and they dont have the Microsoft Suite. I then get home and go to fill out my rebates and find out that the rebate for the (free) router expires on 11/30/2005and the rebate form is not even for the router model I got, I guess since they are not open Sunday I will have to call on Monday and see what is going on, I feel thatwhen you get a computer at MDG everything that is free is not free, and the supposed upgrades are in fact really downgrades. All I wanted was a computer with a floppy drive and an additional dvd Rom, and what was advertised. I only hope that everyone else stays away from this place as it is not what they say or advertise. I can only hope that when I actually get to use it that it works fine, as it is a Christmas gift from husband. I have never been called had someone insinuate that I am a LIAR, and am very put off by that. I will never recommend MDG computers to anyone and if I ever hear of anyone thinking about buying one from there I will mostly certainly tell them of my unpleasant experiences with MDG.

Thank you Terry Daley
